My First Signature [EDIT: 6 More]

It's not terrible for a first, but there are quite a few major-ish problems:

Too much stuff on top of the render, making it quite hard to see what it actually is. Always erase most of the brushing/effects/whatever from the focal point.

Text: It's too big and distracting. Usually it's best not too put on any text at all, especially if you're not very experienced.

The black bars at the top and bottom are pretty distracting and not needed. I'd get rid of them.

Other than that, just keep reading good tutorials and keep practising.

To compress if using gimp or PS save as jpg at 100% or shrink/crop it.

Neither of them look like much blending IMO.

Sir Hatlar's looks ruined IMO by the thick border shrink it a little.

Get a c4d or something and put it ABOVE the render, then make it flow with the sig by erasing bits and pieces as well as changing colour etc.

Or you could also try brushing on a layer above the render, even go so far as to have a few smudge layers above it :P

No, you think I should?

How should I create a light source if not to use lens flare?

Big white soft brush OR dodge tool :)

You probably should add some C4D's to add some background and foreground effects, on my sig could you make the render a bit more dominant too please :)

On your use of textures (?) is good-ish. Fairly good signatures, but they all seem low quality. Keep on reading tutorials like I've said before
