Jorvall
As the title says I'm an "older" player looking to maybe come back to Runescape. But it has been quite some time since I last played. Like November of 2006. Not sure what I want to do or where to go. I will most likely stay free account for a while till I get back into things a bit more. I have about 125k gold and a full Rune set to include scimmy and kite shield. And these are my skills. Any ideas or comments are welcome. Stupid comments are not. Thank you. mister_moocky
Stupid queston. If you enjoy the game, play it. If you do not, do not. No one can help you. quit
Imamonkey
I would disagree with that. But yep, playing till you get back in the groove of things is the route to go. Then when you get familiar with the game again, you should be able to get as much help as anyone else can from this site. I myself have had extended leaves of absence. I know I will always come back to play eventually. But breaks from things are nice. don't know if you really had plans to come back to the game, regardless. Welcome back! Jorvall
It's not a matter of whether I'm going to play or not. It's a question of what I should to. There are lots of things to do in RS. Some of which I don't even know because they are newer. But I logged in and found myself just sitting there with no idea what to do. Or where to go. tripsis
I would recommend setting overarching goals for yourself such as getting all skills to 30+. That way you can train a little bit of each skill. While doing this, you will probably end up finding a skill that you particularly enjoy and you can then focus on that one. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Imamonkey
Everytime I take an extended leave of absence I more or less just pick something to do till I kinda get back in the groove. Listen to people on the game and what they say. Although a lot of it will be nonsense. Just do something you liked before. Kill something. Mine something. Smith something. Cut trees. Fish. Try your hand at a quest. Just do something till you get back in the groove as I said. At least that is my approach to coming back. Regardless of being gone a couple of years, you still would remember how to do certain things I would think? No one at this point can really tell you what to do because what should I do is pretty vast and vague at this point. Edit: One good way to catch up would be to read forums and kinda see what is going on. But being gone that long a lot of what is going on might be unfamiliar to you. El_Mexican
you should do all the non members quest while you arent member, also read the manual or post on the forum for any question you have. Ive taken many breaks but they normaly are 3-7months and get used to rs in like a week or so, but it migth take a while for you to get used to the new rs. good luck  Maybe you are not someone for the world, but you migth be the world for someone.Yu-Gi-Oh! the Abridged Series <--- (If you have never seen Yu-Gi-Oh! you migth not get it)See the episodes by order
Jorvall
Ok. To narrow down this discussion then. I used to really enjoy hunting monsters. Where would be a good place to go with my skill and gear? Somewhere that I might have a chance to make a bit of gold from drops but not so dangerous as to get me killed. Jorvall
Correct. I meant the hunting of monsters. Not the skill. I've never done the skill and have no desire to at this point.
Owned_Nex
Hmm. Not many things you can hunt. Mayby try the Stronghold of Security? Dungeoneering isn't a skill.
