Imamonkey
I am asking not so much for herblore experience, but for the value added to fishing. Are fishing potions worth the effort to increase fishing, or does the bonus given run out so quick that it really isn't worth the time spent to make them. I am thinking their real value is really for things like getting in the fishing guild when you are a couple of levels shy and things like that. I am guessing the bonus would stack with a fishing familiar too? Thanks
Troacctid
They're worthless for fishing. If you need a temporary boost, they give 1 less extra level than an admiral pie anyway. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Imamonkey
They actually give two less than Admiral Pie. I didn't think of that. I might make some pies. I am not wondering because I need a fishing boost. I am more thinking along the lines of speeding fishing up a touch.
GibberEsh
There's always the granite crab, ibis and granite lobster if you want to slightly speed up fishing. Otherwise, the potions/pies aren't really worth it.
Kilo
Fishing potions are a total waste of money if you use them for fishing. Summoning familiars work better, and last much longer. Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Oscar Wilde
Imamonkey
Money is not really a concern of mine. I am using a familiar. I figure pie would be a better option, especially since it is +2 over the potion. My question is more will it speed up my time noticeably/less time fishing for x amount of fish. And will the pie bonus stack with the familiar bonus. I guess I will just check and see myself. What worth is is relative. Does it make any difference in time spent and does it stack? I guess if someone can answer if the bonus stacks, that is all I really want to know to make up my mind. Thanks.
Troacctid
It stacks with familiars, but the bonus is too small to be noticeable. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
Imamonkey
Thanks Troacctid. I will use them then. Thanks everyone for trying to help out. Closed subject as far as I am concerned. Thanks.
SportsGuy
The only thing those potions are really good for are, say, accessing the guild if you need those extra levels or getting a couple of levels for just a couple of fish. It won't really help you power-fishing, but I DID use them a few times when I was close to level 70 in order to get caviar for barbarian potions I wanted to make. You COULD use them to give you some extra levels to make fishing quicker, but that boost is so minimal it really isn't worth it.
