Minotaurs in SoS is a good place.

Once you reach a certain level (I forgot which one, but think logically), then go to the Barbarians at the Barb. Village bar. I really liked this place. It was great xp.

You could also train across the wilderness ditch. I havent tried this yet but I think its not bad xp.

After that you could go to Hill Giants at Edgeville Dungeon, then at like lvl 55+ you could go Lesser Demons at Karamja Volcano, or Ankous at SoS. I know a few safespots at Ankous.

Chickens to 20, then cows.

I have trained one pure to 99 range, and have 82 range on another, so listen up!

If you are 1 def then follow this rule:

1-20 chickens.

20-40 SoS minataurs (lower level ones)

40-70 SoS minataurs (Higher level ones)

70-90 Lessers

90-99 Ankous/Lessers

The above options are a mix of very good experience combined with enough rewards to keep you stocked up with all the arrows you will ever need - keep all noted drops from minataurs, as you will need all those arrows later on.

If you are a main - then you could go to flesh crawlers at around the 50 combat mark and stay for quite a while without having to eat. They hit 1's rarely on rune, and are aggressive. These are excellent money makers in P2P, but are rubbish for F2P.

I don't know how rich you are or what your defence level is but if they are both low, I would strongly suggest training at men in Edgeville. There's a building right next to the bank with around 7 men in it and they drop bones. You might think, what use are bones? Well, they sell for 70+ gp each and with a bank nearby it's a great way to get both exp and money at low levels. I personally got 94 ranged in f2p and I have another ranged/mage pure with 62 ranged. Both exp and cash rates are much lower than you'll get from minotaurs since you won't have to run back and forth from safespot. I would say you train here untill you're 40 ranged and can wear d'hide.

I'd do cows at your level, and then move on to minotaurs when you're like 20-30.

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:

At level 10 I think that training on cows might be good, and the hides might be sold to buy more arrows. After level 20 maybe then going to the SoS is a good idea, but at higher levels (like 40+) I would prefer the ice giants, as they have high hp and fairly low CB level, most importantly they take up space so they're easy to safespot. Only problem with that (and I think its what makes people stay away from them) is that there are also ice warriors running around, attacking people. After 10 mins of staying there they should stop, so you may stay as long as your arrows last. A more popular place for range is lesser demons, and they can also be safespotted. To save arrows, you may wish to get even higher range level so you can hit higher and more often on lessers or whatever your wish to train on. The SoS is always a good place to train range even beyond 40, but by 50, ranging on the lessers or ice giants would be best. Moss giants are another option, but they may be crowded. It would mainly be your choice though.
