I'm planning to chin 99 ranged after maxing melees, a friend of mine recently told me about mummies. I've always seen these off as chinning for those with less money. But he's reporting 200k drops per 1k chins.

Can anyone confirm the exp per hours of both and the average loot of mummies. I'd appreciate it if you evaluated these against one another, but I can do that for myself too.

Thanks.

Monkeys

Can you expand on this for me? Like exp/chin and money from drops?

You get better xp per chin at monkeys and there are no drops from monkeys but its worth it do to them.

Pureprayer, you're awesome.

Yeah, not sure what the statistics are, but I can report to you that monkeys seem to be the indisputable choice amongst efficient chinners.

Monkeys for pure exp.

Mummies give a few ok drops which can help towards paying for supplies, but you lose out on exp.

Its all about preference, o and I should add its a lot easier to get to the CT mummies (just in case you die, which happens a lot with chinners).

[hide=Drops]

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

It's not about preference.

Monkies are faster and cheaper. I will challenge you to get 90-99 ranged at mummies and pay less than what I did at monkey skeletons. You might get some drops, but I get more xp per chinchompa, so I use less chinchompa's so I loose less money (which outweighs your drops) and I WIN time, compared to you.

If using Full Void Range + Range potions + prayer, I would estimate 200-250 experience per Red Chin used on Ape Atoll.

Mummies don't have that wonderful respawn feature, and the ancient staff drops are very minimal and will only refund your costs by about 0.08% :P
