February 15, 200917 yr From 92 to 99 fishing and not cooking and selling raw. What is gonna be the best mix between being profitable and quick. While I know fly fishing in shilo would be the quickest probably, I am pretty sure it is definitely the most profitable. I am looking for a mix of quick and good profit margin. Thinking sharks would be the best profit wise but maybe a little to slow over something else that would still be decent profit but quite a bit quicker. All sane and rational input is greatly appreciated. Thanks
February 15, 200917 yr go fish monks, there are quite fast and the raws sell very easy [hide]visage drop 11/01/09goals:all skills 70+ (completed)all skills 80+98% Of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you're part of the 2% that stayed with rock, put this in your signature, ROCK IS BETTER![/hide]
February 15, 200917 yr I started monks right around 92 fishing(when the quest came out) I can suggest fishing 5k monks, than switching it to sharks, fish maybe 2k go back to monks, or switch to swordfish. and repeat. If you try fishing the same fish all they way to 99 your going to burn yourself out. Don't let your gp or exspensive items sit in your bank. its going to take a couple months to reach 99, sell off you exspensive items. Invest in the GE or your kingdom.
February 15, 200917 yr Author Thanks Dank, I was kind of thinking along those lines. I wasn't really thinking about how many it was going to take me. I made this post this morning before I left the house so I figured I would have a couple of replies by the time I got back home. I don't know why I was thinking it wouldn't take long like you said, but after you mentioned it and I checked the skill calculator I figure it would take me at least a month playing pretty hardcore everyday to achieve it. I imagine I will set my goals at one to two levels at a time with said strategy till I achieve it. I may not be able to play very much and it will more than likely be f2p when I can after about a month anyway. I figure I will spend my time more wisely doing things that are gonna benefit me more due to upcoming circumstances and having to be f2p. Making runes for teleporting and superheating and such and a few other loose odds and ends to tie up. But now I go my plan for when I make the go and don't have to ask then. Thanks I suppose people can still post, but I think I pretty much have my game plan together.
February 15, 200917 yr I went from 80-99 all on monks, it probably netted me around 28M. I tried going to sharks a few times but the exp rates were terrible in comparison and the profit wasn't that much, if any, better.
February 15, 200917 yr Author I will keep that in mind. Of course I am sure I will have to test the theory myself. You know how that goes.
February 15, 200917 yr Having 99 fishing myself, I can say that monks are the best choice you have. Sharks are nowhere near monks in comparison of time/money.
February 15, 200917 yr Monkfish are your best bet. Definitely superior to sharks. Although I would point out that if you're aiming to use your last days of membership to benefit you in f2p, your best bet is probably to train agility, since the run restoration will carry over into free worlds. February 15, 200917 yr Author I agree with you on the agility. I have always said it was good skill to train if you don't have members much. But I think 20k natures and 5k laws and some other things are going to be my best bet this go around. I have 71 agility and I can bear that for now. Great advice and thanks for the input. Plan on doing a lot of superheating and always good to get around quick by teleporting. And I want to get my runcrafting up a bit anyway. It is only 66 at the moment. Got a good days worth of alching to do still and it is yew longs, so I have to alch them before I go f2p. And I was thinking of trying to get my mining up some with the time left after all that. Its 75, and I think I may be doing quite a bit of mining coal, adamantite and mith in my next f2p stint, which will probably not be much at all and it is going to be f2p at that. On the plus side have 4k mithril ores already from last f2p stint from cockroaches and some adamantite ores to kick off that part. Have around 20k coal to help get started from a little bit of MTK this time around to so even though I may not be getting to play much at all, when I do I will have some things to keep me busy for a while. Oh yeah, gotta take advantage of my gilded altar too and get my prayer from 68 to 70 before I lose members in about twenty days too. Edit: If I were to pursue this in f2p, what is the opinion on swordfish or lobbies. I am thinking it is probably going to be lobbies. But I could be wrong there.
