Use Karils and Z Spear. SirHemen doesn't have stats like yours so he can't judge well, but I have done waterfiends with Z spears, Sara swords, and Godswords all with mid-80 combat stats, and the Z spear has stood out as the best. Just make sure you have those super sets or you will be missing a lot more.

I don't buy it. Any way you look at it - mathematically or with real world tests - levels and defence have little effect on the effectiveness of godswords\prayers\potions etc.

 

 

 

Best weapon by far is SS, then zammy spear, then godswords as a VERY distant 3rd. I would almost put flail\hams above godsword; it's just that slow. Melee void is nice if you have a unicorn, not so nice if your dealing with a bunyip. I personally go for full void + ss + unicorn, but it BARELY keeps up with 99 defence.

Karil + ZS. I've been doing that set-up on my waterfiend tasks since 85 combats and have constantly found it the best. If the + GS was a SGS, then take it along for the specs. As you don't have a unicorn void melee is kind of out of the question.

SS is preffered but if you have max strength (like moi) then Zammy Spear is better for the little XP you get in attack/defence by training controlled.

Like I said, it requires a pony. I can tank in void and very rarely use prayer (~15% of the time) while getting far, FAR faster kills with piety. Void makes a big difference.

Not to bash on hemen but alot of the time his advice isnt very accurate. Go with compfreak on this one, void is great at waterfiends, but you really need the stats to use it well. Piety and void is where its at!

Yes. Unicorn can generally *just* keep up with it, but every now and then one waterfiend hits me a lot and I end up using pray a small amount of the time.
