I know these kinda apps exist, but I'm interested to know if anyone uses one.

I use Skype often to call friends overseas, but I'd love a similar program that will send text messages in the same kind of way.

Does anyone know of an app?

Try searching google for "sms application" or "sms messenger" or "computer to sms" or "sms software".

Do you really think I didn't try Google? Lol..

I did, and didn't have alot of luck. The most common Google hit was for commercial software, used for group messaging in business.

I have heard rumors that the SMS.ac site is a scam and that they send text adverts to your phone but bill you for them. Aparently its in the T&C too.
