March 4, 200917 yr Hey, I'm quite new to the forums =) The reason i posted this topic was that i am currently wanting to get my smithing to atleast level 85, and i am wondering what would be the quickest and what would then be the most cost efficient way to get it there from 61 (my current smithing level)......... i have been doing the superheat item technique on mithril for some time, loosing 18gp per bar (maybe peanuts, but it all mouts up), and also it takes quite a while with being only able to smith 5 at a time. So any hints, tips and advice would be greatly appreciated =) Ez Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
March 4, 200917 yr You could do MTK and get the coal from there. Then go to the blast furnace and make steel bars then alch the platebodies you make. :D
March 14, 200917 yr I suggest buying iron ore and rings of forging, smelting and smithing those into iron knives... Iron ore costs about 100 each, Rings of forging about 1200 each (140 uses each) and each bar creates 5 Iron knives worth about 34 each... If you want a more in depth tutorial you can always PM me...
March 14, 200917 yr Mith bolts with coal from mtk. (blast furnace) Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
March 14, 200917 yr First and foremost, learn to play Stealing Creation. Smithing tends to be a "loss" skill, so no matter what you smith you're going to lose cash (like construction, but less devastating). The proto-tools from stealing creation double your experience per bar, so you'll lose far less! First, I'd recommend using iron ore and rings of forging to make iron bars, and then make iron knives. They're a great, fun tool to train range with, even if they're less popular than they used to be. As soon as you can do mith bolts, do them. Coal through miscellania, and mith is cheap. Using the blast furnace is awesome here; I find it's actually -faster- than normal smelting when you use the blast furnace world. Finally, switch to addy arrowtips when you can do them. They almost break even, and they're great experience. These will run you until 88 smithing, if you're interested. At 88 smithing, you can earn up to 450k exp/hour doing addy plates in Varrock West bank. You -will- have to spend quite a bit of money, but the smithing cape may be worth it. Have fun!
March 14, 200917 yr For p2p, mith bolts are the best. For f2p, mith bars (just like what you were doing before).
