Making a Profit using the grand exchange

Featured Replies

Are you constantly finding yourself in need of cash? Do you wish you had more money? If you do, then listen up.

This method will turn up a profit rate above 23%, it's easy, and although it's not instantaneous, it's much faster than the traditional methods of making cash.

I do not know what the rates are for other metals but, you can buy coal at it's max price of 187 without fail, and iron ore for 109. Steel bars sell for 633 on average. If you can smith steel bars, put all of your money into this, the recources cost a total of 482 for each steel bar, and if you buy them, you can buy huge amounts without spending countless time in mines.

The nearest non-member furnace is in Falador, the nearest member furnace is in Edgeville.

This is the most efficient way there is of making cash, I turned 3k into 24k in about 3 hours, the more money you put in, the more you get out, and at a rate of 23% too... so if you have 1 mill, you could easy gain a quarter million in relatively no time at all.

I turned 3k into 24k in about 3 hours

WOW

Firstly, this is nowhere near the "most efficient" way to make cash. Secondly, 8k per hour is not too special unless you're under about level 40 :-#

Sorry to flame this, but someone had to tell you that you're not helping too many people by your thread title... If anything, you should have called it something along the lines of "Smithing exp with a profit"

like I said, anbd like you obviously didn't read, it's a percentage profit....

if I had more money to begin with, like around 100k, I could have more than tripled it in 3 hours.

Tripling 100k in 3 hours is about 66k an hour. That's terrible.

A good use of the ore and bar prices, however, is to buy ores and nats then superheat and sell to break even. Good mage xp, and fast smith xp as well.

Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3

Realize that percentage profit isn't much if it takes too much time to gain it. Although it may be about 25% by your numbers (i really don't feel like checking :P ), I could safely say that you can make a good 200-300% profit in fighting decent monsters (e.g. Aviansies). Therefore, your percentage gain is not much at all in the grand scheme of the game, where you can make much more money in less time in many other ways than that which you stated. ::'

Also, do not accuse me of not reading your post. I have ABSOLUTELY NEVER posted on a thread unless I have at least read the OP's opening post (and unless it is a 5+ page topic, I also read all of the posts). I have seen how people get flamed for this and am not stupid enough to fall under the same trap. I know you may not see my point, but do not make false accusations to make your point.

I hope this guy realizes that just because it took him "3 hours" to smith like 40 steel bars that when he has to smith 1 million steel bars it won't take the same amount of time...

Locking this for a few reasons:

First of all, no offense, but this isn't really unknown information. I'm sure you can find a lot of similar, or better, tips in more developed guides. And there are much more effective and efficient money-making methods.

And finally, all guides belong in the Archive of Wisdom and its related subforums.
