can you guys improve the ignore list...

I think when you ignore people that it assumes that you dont want to see any of their posts. You could just remove them from your foes list to prevent this issue from coming up. Or were you after a solution where the post just doesn't show at all?

the latter please. i know this is done in vBulletin forums. just wondering if phpBB can do it too.

There might be a mod for it. I'll take a look.

I don't really see the point, the only people you would need to blacklist are spam bots, but we ban them and remove their posts from public forums anyway. If a regular user ends up on your blacklist, I'd still like the option to see their posts regardless, they won't always post things that you deem worthless spam/flaming.

you're not supposed to blacklist anyone because you're a mod. this is pretty much how it works in most vBulletin boards I've used

and, you don't use the ignore list if you're "okay" with seeing their posts every now and then. at least i don't.

edit: Albosky's not an admin anymore? oh he could've done it :(

There's nothing stopping me blacklisting people...

Besides, even if I did I'd still like to have the option to see their posts in case they say something important or relevant to the discussion. Pretty embarrassing if you try to make a point or mention something that they've already covered.

As someone who more or less knows his way around phpBB templates, I can say yes, it can be done. There's no doubt about that. Coming up with a reason good enough to convince the Admins should prove more difficult.

I don't think it's a big deal. So you get an option asking if you'd like to view their post, is it that hard to ignore it? I doubt the admins would waste their time with an unnecessary update like this, even if it is quick and easy to implement.

Exactly this. Easy enough to do, but no good reason at all in my opinion.

i'm just saying, it's kinda pointless to have an ignore feature if it's half-assed compared to what other forums offer.

I agree with tripsis and pryro here - it's plenty easy to just ignore the message; there is no need to completely remove all refrences to a post. I'm curious however, how many people do you have on this list? I have never used it.
