Idk how, but a virus got onto my comp and now I can't see anything except open folders. I can't see the folders on the desktop nor the toolbar + start menu. I've been opening things up with windows task manager and currently have a virus scan going.

What else can I do? I'm scared :ohnoes:

If your current virus scan doesn't work, hard restart (turn the power off at the switch or hold the power button in a few seconds), then at the boot screen choose Safe Mode, and run the virus scan then.

W00t fixed it! Got on irc and just asked and someone had had the same problem. Apparently explorer got bogged down with too many errors and quit. All I had to do was run explorer[Caution: Executable File] through task manager :D

Now there's your problem. I'd seriously advise removing McAffee and replacing it with something else. It's virus protection is poort and it hogs up your computer's memory and cpu a lot. Something like AVIRA Antivir or NOD32 would be much better.
