You can get it to req and I think you should just melee one since you only need... one.

With your stats you should use melee, and yes you can wild pie.

You should take a look at Erichermit's (AOW) guide on wyverns:

You can find the best setup there, aswell as killing tactics (allthough you only need one, you never know when knowledge might come in handy)

 

But, in my opinion, you should be able to kill one easily, wether you use range or melee.
