March 19, 200917 yr I would say that python should be a good place to start, I have never used it myself but it's a good, powerful open source scripting language and you should be able to find lots of support on the internet for it. I think Wikibooks would be a good place to start: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Python_Programming
March 19, 200917 yr I know a lot of people swear by starting with Python. I too haven't tried it (its on my to list along with about 20 other things). If your seriously looking into programming C/C++ or Java are the ways to go. Either dive right in or start with a simple language (like Python  ) learning the basics. March 20, 200917 yr So python is a lot easier then c and c++? I'm willing to say yes. With C and C++, you get into pointers and references, where in Python, that's not nearly as complicated. Start slow with Python, go to www.python.org, thumb through their tutorials there, and experiment with as much as you can.
