Allowed sizes

Featured Replies

Is it just me or are the allowed sizes for sigs/avatars to small, take my sig for example i use it on most forums and its fine there; but on this one i had to reduce it so it was allowed so that means the quality of it has been serverely reduced. Has anyone else found this annoying?

The size rules have been around on Tip.it now for a while, 300x150x30kb for signatures, 80x80x9k for avatars. Though I wouldn't mind if we were allowed to make our media work just a tad bit bigger. :P

Its the width that bothers me the most; as most of the sigs that i make aren't that high anyway.

the limits are there mainly for 56kers

but i think an extension to 400 x 200 and 40kb would work

i like the sizes, and im glad for the fast loading, bigger only equals more clutter.

I find that you can find whatever you want into a 300x150 px image. Most of my sigs dont even come close to those sizes.

The main point of an image is purely a signature, its not mean to dominate the post. You see some forums with no limits and people will say a one liner sentance and have about 800px worth of images going down the page.

While I think the file size could be increased a tad I dont think the dimensions are a problem at all.

I like the current set limit. I use it even off-site. Lets face it, Tip is slow even without images.. the last thing it needs is some Graphics nub posting a 400*200 MSPaint stick figure that winds up being 80kb.

I wouldn't mind the size to be upped to 400*150, but ofcourse thats because I have that 1600*1200 resolution. The 30kb has to stay, though, nomatter what.
