c1vandal
please read this fully. it is my sisters company and is 100% genuine. she has been working hard toward this for years. If this carried through it could get the ball rolling in a matter of weeks. please ask any and all questions you have. this is the email I got from her. Coffee Connections (www.coffeeconnect.org), is a charity which will provide rural income generation opportunities to small scale farmers, discourage the negative effects of urbanization in Sub-Saharan Africa, and encourage the completion of secondary education of farmers children. The unique strategy we are implementing, will allow us to transition these farmers from a dependency upon our NGO to the development of a jointly owned coffee company. We initially intend to sell the coffee in the San Francisco Bay Area and the UK. I am just back in London this week from Kenya. During a recent meeting we had with the farmers, we learned that many are making less than .02 USD a pound for the coffee sold, much less than a pound at Starbucks! Most of the farmers live off of less than 1 USD a day. Their income is so low that they can not invest in their farms, which would ensure a stable income in the future. They cannot afford large quantities of food, medical care or support their childrens education. Coffee Connections met Margaret, a coffee farmer and mother of her seven year old daughter. Margaret cannot afford to keep her daughter in school any longernot without our help. You can see her photo and others on our website. Coffee Connections is a contestant on a social entrepreneurship website where we could win 10,000 USD for start-up. This would be a huge boost to our current funding! Please log on and vote for Coffee Connections: http://ideablob.com/ideas/4887-Coffee-Connections thanks for taking the time to read this and any votes. -ryan

Yeah, but hardly anyone looks there so I don't think it's that bad of an idea that he's posted it in OT if he really wants attention. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers! c1vandal
there goal is to give coffee farmers a fair price according to the world market for their coffee, but in order to be able to take advantage of the higher value they have to agree to put their children through schooling, and not allow them to work on the farm until doing so. -ryan
