I'm planning on potting Herblore and Farming for When Guthix Sleeps, at which stages in the quest do i need to do this?

You might not want to here this but getting 65 herblore could easily be achieved in 1 hour from your level.

You need 80,743 XP to get 65 herblore. Meaning this will cost you ~550k

Considering tarromin's price now it would be a 6.12gp loss per exp.

 

That would cost you just under 500k. And i think you can empty the vials to get money back? (Not sure though)

 

 

 

Prayer potions would be a bit faster though. And you can always wait to sell them for a bit over mid price in the GE to make less of a loss.

Yes, I carried around a Greenman's Ale (m) and a garden pie throughout the whole quest, and never used them besides to start the quest.

That's right. Once you've started the quest, you'll never need to boost them again.
