Maging Tormented Demons

Now, I know I've asked this question before on this site's TD guide, but I never really received an answer. I am wondering if Magic, specifically Smoke Barrage, would be effective against Tormented demons. Do NOT tell me to use Claws or other god spells, I found them to inaccurate. Melee'ing with a halberd is to slow, and a whip is very supply intensive. My developed set-up would give me around 74 Magic attack, 120 range, and 11 prayer. I picked some barrage because it is the most accurate spell, and it poisons. Even though TD's supposedly cannot be poisoned, as Mithril Dragons cannot, Smoke spells poison the Mithril dragons, so, in theory, they out to poison the Demons.

 

 

 

Any ideas?

Even if you didn't splash, the damage rate would probably be too low for the cost. That being said, I've been doing some MASSIVE questing (MEP 1&2 yesterday evening as well as 26 out of the 36 more QP needed for WGS), and though I'm gone this weekend, I should be finished with WGS by wednesday of next week at the latest. I'll be off to demons to try every imaginable tactic there.

 

 

 

I can tell you this, though: You should have gotten 88 summoning. Unicorn is the holy grail, and I can't wait to try pack yak + unicorn for epic 80 kill trips 8-)

Personally, the only way I have seen people effectivly mage is when they were in a group of three people. I don't know if it was good than, but that would really be the only effective way.

Noone probably uses it even if it is good is best magic has a low max hit and costs you money unlike range were you can get some ammo back. So even if it is good it'd pointless and more expensive than the other 2 options.

However, it could possibly be good if you are in a trio, with each person doing one style. The TD would be taking damage from 2 styles then, instead of 1. Just a thought, but it will hit lower than the other 2 styles. Maybe COG would work good?

I'd say around 25.

Currently, with only a titan, I can last around 15 kills, depends on how much I pay attention. Last solo trip I only used 1 brew and a few sharks, it was more a matter of running out of p pots. I don't know how many kills I got that trip. I also was using a SGS. With a pony you could bring a lot more p pots and no food, so easily last 20 kills. I also have only 73 pray.

Cripes, I shoulda bought a ZGS, then sold when I had enough cash for 99 construction. Ah well. Thank you for the input everybody. I can get 15-20 kills per trip using a titan currently with a halberd, but I hate using halberds and whips. Thanks anyways.

This is compfreak we're talking about, knowing him he probably already calculated how much money he needs to the nearest gp.
