I see these every night, it's a wonder that people don't go out and watch them more but here its like "Oh auroras...cool"

-.- I've seen these things for a decade, every night, and every night they stun me.

EVERY night?! What the hell? Where are you?!

EDIT: You should post more things in the Gallery next time you're here :)

Kaphias lives in South Central Alaska, like me. And I add a +1 to his post, haven't seen em since I was like 10.

Who's Kaphias? I missed that lol...I live in the Northwest Territories of Canada though

Southeast Alaska, actually. About 2 hours of flying time difference, lol.

And Kajua, you must just be far enough North that you still get them often enough. Lucky.

When I see them I whistle to them. I was told by a wise man that they dance to whistling. He may be a little batty, but I can't help but whistle when I see them in the sky. They really are beautiful. It's nice to just lay in the snow and watch them in silence. Sadly they don't occur here every night (although a clear sky speckled with stars is nice as well).

Damn, I've gotta see that one day.

What actually is it? (like why does that happen? and what makes it happen?)
