Umm, to prevent the overflow, add either add some more flour or tapioca (it's rather amazing in pies actually!) to help absorb the excess liquid and if you're finding it too runny still, try to stay away from open topwork (lattice for example) and stick with a closed top crust until you figure out the necessary proportions so no leaking occurs. Also, always have a drip pan under anything you have in the oven... makes clean up so much easier! [hide=plain cake] [/hide] [hide=cinnamon cake with chocolate-chile frosting (buttercream melting :()][/hide] [hide=first attempt at lattice work... I've gotten better, I swear!][/hide] [hide=can't remember if i posted this or not: honey-lemon pound cake with lemon icing][/hide] OMG those cakes are so cute >.< Especially the honey-lemon cake. As for me, I'm eating right now, New York Super Fudge Chunk Ice cream by Ben & Jerry's. They are the best EVAR!

Ooooo I haven't had that stuff in YEARS! It's good. Then again, venison is always good. Especially in my dad's kale soup.

The other day I baked a pumpkin pie. It's good stuff. There's actually still some left, I think I may just have a piece.
  4. I wear whatever I feel like, depending on my mood. Sometimes it's just a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, sometimes it's dressy-casual, sometimes I just feel like bumming it in sweatpants and a hoodie. Very rarely will I wear a dress or skirts. (I did wear a nice dress on Thanksgiving though, I felt like being a pretty pretty princess ^_^ )
  5. I decided to check this out, and there's no one there >.>
  6. Just thought I should mention, I went to Wendy's today and had fries and a Frosty. And it was all because I was craving them due to this thread.

Since when did a Chinese restaurant carry sushi? I dunno. I've seen a few places around here that do though. But this is the best place I've been to by far.
  8. The Little Mermaid Ninja Turtles (the first one) Who Framed Roger Rabbit? I think I wore out our VHS of The Little Mermaid when I was 6. Either that or my mother threw it out because she was sick of me watching it so much. All I know is that one day it disappeared.

I had sushi and orange chicken for dinner last night. There's this Chinese food place down the street from my house that has an awesome sushi bar. My fiance wasn't in the mood for sushi until after we ordered, so we decided to split everything in half. It was good stuff. EDIT: Here's what I had for dinner tonight: [hide=PIZZA!][/hide]
  10. I <3 french fries and Frosties. Yes, at the same time. It is win.
  11. This reminds me of a story out of NH that I heard about on the radio last month. (links are here and here) I've said it before (maybe not here) and I'll say it again, you cannot blame the media for people's psychosis. It doesn't matter if it's music, video games, or movies. The people who commit these crimes need to take responsibility for their own actions. Did you know that in 9 out of 10 cases, the people who start this whole "blame the media" thing are actually the defense attorneys? It's basically taking the blame off of the criminal! It's ridiculous. Also, what's funny is that the lady on the radio who I heard about this story from called the genre "new". I should have called in that day and told her that just because it was under her radar doesn't mean it was new to the rest of the world. Then again, I don't like that lady. It's on this talk radio station that my fiance listens to. He doesn't like her much either.

This is what I made for dinner tonight. [hide=Macaroni and cheese with broccoli and ham][/hide] Yep. It was good.
  13. The only concerts I've ever been to were ICP shows. But they do put on a hell of a show. Just feeling the energy at them is awesome. I actually went to a show a couple weeks ago. They had HED-pe there and stuff. It was awesome. I only have one problem with concerts: I can't do mosh pits. Panic attacks FTL.
  14. Let's see, a slew of mental health problems on my mother's side, not to mention Diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart problems. On my father's side, heart problems, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and certain cancers.
  15. I'm in the midst of reading the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Only on the second book, but thus far it's pretty good.
  16. I go to bed whenever I feel tired, and wake up whenever I feel I've rested enough. Or I wake up at a specific time because I have something important to do, depending on the day. Speaking of which, I should consider sleep now.
  17. I actually laughed at that. Massachusetts school systems (they are not linked by any stretch of the imagination) really are not as good as you think. I know, I'm a product of Mass schools. They don't even teach the kids properly anymore. Honestly, if I have kids, they are getting home-schooled, or we're going to another country. Now, as for the actual address, it could be a good thing, but it's not likely that all students will be paying attention to it. Some kids these days don't care about things like this. I may not like alot of Obama's policies, but at least he's making an effort with getting kids involved.
  18. Actually, one can be racist against one's own race. I've seen it with many different people, not just of one color. It's more of hating the actions of said races though, not totally the people themselves.
  19. -sigh- As for Taco Bell being low quality, I can tell you, from an insider's POV that yes, it is crap. The beef is about 20% beef, and that's being generous. The rest is oats, water, and spices. All of the meat they use comes precooked, frozen, and in little plastic baggies that they stick in water for half an hour. This is why I no longer eat Taco Bell. And if I do ever get the urge, it's a cheese quesadilla and a 7-layer burrito. But I haven't been there in like 3 years.
  20. This is why I prefer just getting a big gallon jug with a fancy tap on it, filling it at home, and leaving it in the fridge, then using an old soda bottle for my "bottled" water. Much cheaper. Plus, if you want to get rid of the things you don't want in your water, you can buy one of those nifty filter thingies from the store. Cheaper than buying bottles all the time. At least that's how I make things easier and cheaper for me.
  21. Born and raised in Plymouth, been here almost 19 years, and I've never HEARD of Kiskadee Coffee. Is it down in Manomet? I should check it out =]. It's actually right on Main St, in Downtown. You should seriously go there. I don't even live in Plymouth, and I go there once a week.
  22. Ok, here's my list, it's mostly food places though, because I like food. MASSACHUSETTS If you're ever in Wareham, you HAVE to go to Kool Kone. It's one of the best ice cream places on the Cape. And it's not just ice cream, the food is awesome there too. If you're ever in Plymouth, you HAVE to go to the Kiskadee Coffee Co. They have some of the best coffee I've ever had, and the sandwiches are superb. If you ever go to Fall River (which IDK why you would), you HAVE to go to Oak Grove Cemetary and visit Lizzy Borden. Also visit the house, if you can. If you're ever in Boston, you HAVE to go to the Museum of Science. It is AWESOME! MAINE If you're even in Scarborough, you HAVE to visit Beal's Ice Cream. They have awesome stuff there. If you're ever in Scarborough, you HAVE to go to the Clam Bake restaurant for seafood. It has awesome stuff. I don't live in any of these places (well, anymore, I live in Mass somewhere though ^_^ ) but it's good stuff.
  23. If you want $2 bills, go to southern Maine, they're quite common there. There's an... establishment... that uses them frequently. The only things that I like collecting are decorative weaponry. I used to have a couple of swords, and I have a nice dagger with a dragon handle, and a hatchet.
  24. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=nrfb Witty. It's better than the site I would've sent you too... at least his doesn't curse at you.
  25. Yay! Happy 4th! I'm doing absolutely nothing today. Mainly because I haven't the vehicle to get anywhere, and my fiance is working tonight. So no fireworks for me :(
