2Bi
So,my farming is 36,which is very low,and i want to level it up a bit,but before that, i have a few questions to ask: 1.Should i pay for farmers to look for my crops? i know that trees and fruit trees need the look after of a farmer ,but should i pay for all allotments and herbs too? 2.Should i plant fruit trees? as far as i know im only able to plant apple trees and banana trees, although their seeds are quite cheap, but apples and bananas don't sell at the GE. 3.How many logs can i get from a planted tree? will the logs from harvesting the trees be able to cover the cost of the tree seeds used?(im only able to plant willows  ) 4.what seeds should i use for each patch? Here is what seeds i intend to use: Allotment seeds (strawberries) Herb seeds (Ranarr weed) Flower seeds (Marigolds) Hop seeds (Wildblood) Tree seeds (willow) Fruit tree seeds: / Bush seeds (Dwellberries) Are these seeds easily bought at the GE? Inuashakent
No, don't pay farmers for your trees. I'm serious. Use supercompost, and they'll barely ever die. Farmers can't watch over herbs. Plant both types of trees, and I'd probably do maple/yew, but you can save money if you like and do Willow and the same with Fruit trees; do whatever you can afford. Er... no. You can make 300k/hour from almost anywhere, so it shouldn't matter. Hell, herb farming gives ~1m give or take 500k (You can only farm 5-7 minutes per 1-2 hours, though). That should be enough to cover tree costs. I wouldn't do allotment and just do trees and herbs, and do FAST runs. Judobreaker
I usually only do fruit trees. And yes, I DO pay the farmers... I don't like dead trees. :P Doesn't really cost me anything anyway, just a few bananas for a curry tree. For the lower trees I never really paid though, they didn't die that much. As far as I know you can get infinite logs from a normal tree, it just regrows after you chop it down. Works the same as normal trees. To get it out of the patch you need to dig fast after you chop it down or else it'll regrow. xD My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)

Just a ton of xp. Edit: If you're doing high level trees (Yew +) paying the farmer is fine. But at low levels, some of the required materials costs more than the seeds... Judobreaker
Yeah, I just hate them dying and it's not much work to pay them... As long as the payment for the farmers doesn't really cost anything I'm gonna keep paying them. :P My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)

Inuashakent
You can only gain the xp from checking the tree once, and after you can continue to rechop it like any other tree. Yeah, I just hate them dying and it's not much work to pay them... As long as the payment for the farmers doesn't really cost anything I'm gonna keep paying them. :P You should invest that money in higher level trees... I have no idea about strawberries, but watermelons rarely die as long as you got the protection flower. Help drive change Canada

The fruit that you get from these low level trees will pay for the higher level trees to be looked after i.e. the apples can pay to look after the willows etc. so dont worry if they sell. I would recommend buying a pre-nature amulet and enchanting it and bind it to one of your herb patches as well. that will mean that you will know if the patch becomes diseased, minimising your losses. Yes, it regrows. You will NOT get farming xp a second time though so if you want the farming xp you'll need to plant a new tree. You can only cut more logs when it regrows. Err, I said it didn't really cost me any money. How can you invest no money in higher level trees? xD My guide: Ring of Wealth explained 8 Dragon Boots (885 kills, 1/111, with RoW)
