f2p range

fail

What a helpful comment. Like the above poster said, I would try ranging things in varrock sewers--possibly red spiders, skeletons, or moss giants? Alternatively, green dragons in the wilderness are easy and are good money at low levels. You may want a slightly higher range level before going there, though. Finally, you could try the lesser demon on top of the wizards tower. It's in a cage, so it would be good for a low level ranger interested in some slow-paced range training.

Green dragons in F2P?

Ah, you're right--no crossbows, so no antifire shields. Yeah, definitely go with something safespottable, in that case. Maybe that lesser demon I mentioned earlier?

ok minotaurs on sos level 1 are junk now at 52 range any other good places? what level should i start ranging lessers?

Define junk please - if it is too slow at minataurs, then tough luck coz they will be your best bet for a while. I trained there til 65 on the level 23 ones.

You have some def, so try out the fleshies. They may provide to be a bit better in the long run if you can semi-afk them, i.e. get them to auto attack you and just take the hits.

You should not go to lessers until 75+ range - even then its very slow compared to the likes of fleshies.

A relatively unknown spot that not many people use are the fortress guards in the black knights fortress. You can stand on the mountain (next to the oracle) and range the fortress guards without taking a hit.....however you cannot pick up your arrows, but it is really good exp, i used it from 50-65.

Another option are lessers....i did them from 65-70....you do make a profit from them but it is slower exp...good luck ::'

Continue with Minotaurs, using iron arrows. They are by far one of the best training areas for range in F2P (if you are safespotting that is).

There are very few places that are actually effective.

All the above posts are more or less useless lol

You have a couple of options that will be worthwhile, Minotaurs would be useless at your range level like you said.

Safespotting:

- Moss giants in Varrock Sewers or Crandor

- Lesser Demons in Karamja or Crandor

- Catepolans in SOS <--- very uncrowded, my personal favourite.

- Black Knights

- Ice Giants

- Greator Demons in Wildy.

'Tanking': (at your defence level)

- Flesh Crawlers

- Red Spiders

- Hill giants

- Guards

- Skeletons

PM me if you want any more explanations regarding these monsters.
