Farming HERBS

Featured Replies

After getting members back i've really had no interest in farming, until now...

I believe farming snaps are best profit-wise, anyone else have their input?

and if i were to unlock the extra farming patch and open up 5 patches, how much profit can i expect per farming run w/ magic secauters farming snapdragons, and how many herbs for the 5 patches?

Thanks

I used to farm snapdragons, but they require a lot of money for seeds, as they're ~30k each. Now, I farm toadflax, which has very cheap seeds. I make 30-60k profit per run, with five patches and magic secateurs. Not incredible money, but it builds up, especially if you're a lower level.

I also assume they have a lower chance of dieing due to disease?

Indeed. They die fairly rarely, maybe 1 patch dies every 2-3 runs? That's with supercompost, of course.

Not bad, But i can't get too distracted... I need the most profit i can possibly get, and higher leveled herbs are preffered so i can turn them into pots

Your farming level doesn't reflect how often your plants become diseased, even at 99 you will still have as many diseased plants as a lower person. Always use supercompost and make sure you have my arm's patch unlocked.

Technically by GE prices ranarr seeds are the best to do, but snaps provide at least x2/x3 more experience then ranarrs. Also never think about herbs for their money, because they really should just be a relaxing way to train farming and get some profit out of it (which you can use to plant trees for faster leveling).

Herbs are my ticket to 99 farming, through trees of course.

I agree completely. I just plant toadflax because I got a few hundred seeds at a drop party XD

Snapdragons are good, for experience and cash, but the seeds are around 50k each now.

I've always like toadflax because of their cheap seeds, which allows me to buy them by the hundreds or thousands without breaking my bank. If you have a huge pile of cash sitting around, or like buying seeds every few runs, go with snaps. Otherwise, toads.

Average harvest per seed is 6.6 herbs.

For info on profits, have a look at this guide.

Kwuarms aren't bad either if you still want good xp/money but don't want to spend 46k/seed on snaps, and I can confirm the 6.6 average.

For profits, check this. They use a 6 herbs/seed average though, so snaps will be about as much profit as kwuarms but more xp.
