Maple logs are F2P, just not neccesarily the trees. Maples are your best bet, Good luck with 99 FM, and welcome to Tip.It In my opinion, 99 Firemaking is like, well, when you light the logs it's like throwing your money into fire. But whatever your reason, maples is the way to go.

Yeah, and besides, the price of maples already crashed to the floor price anyway...they couldn't get any lower no matter how many f2p nubs started chopping them. Maple trees are members-only because they only grow in Kandarin. Anyway, you could try mining to pay for your maples.
