i got black dragons for slayer, and i cant seem to remember what i used to do to slay them -.- (i just recently became a member again)

 

should i do range?or melee?

 

can anybody help me out with some setups? :)

I would melee since you have higher melee stats, but you'd need prayer potions, and I don't know if you can break even at 10k/pot. You can profit more with range, but it would be much slower.

If you can use a BoB, have it hold: 1x Prayer Potion 1x Antifire Potion 1x Super Attack Potion, and rest food. Walk to lair.[/hide]

 

 

 

IF you choose to range in the evil chicken's lair, carry a crossbow, broad bolts (or ruby enchanted, but bring extra food with this), the highest level d'hide/void you can wear, an antidragon shield, and a raw chicken. ;) Bring food in case, but not too many.

I safespot range the ones in the Evil Chicken's Lair. You need to have completed the Sir Amik Varze portion of recipe for disaster in order to access this area. You will also need to use a raw chicken on the altar near the entrance of Zanaris to be teleported to the lair.

 

 

 

If you have full void I suggest using it for this task. Ava's accumulator is also helpful for collecting bolts. Be sure to use a one handed range weapon such as a rune x-bow and don't forget your antifire/dragonfire shield. I use broad bolts for these tasks, but you might want to use something else based on your range level. I find it worthwhile to bank the hides at the Zanaris bank and just grab another raw chicken while banking. You can stock up on raw chickens either by killing a couple or buying from the Canifis meat shop.

im thinking of ranging them so i can do something else at the same time...

and should i use range pots also? if so, then how many per trip? (ill be using a terrorbird to store some drops)

Range pots will only help your speed, I don't know if you want to continue potting throughout the entire duration. Bring 1 full one, and see if you need to adjust.

 

 

 

Bring both bolts; the emerald to poison, and the broad to finish off ;)

One range potion lasts me an entire inventory worth of hides. I don't believe that they help a whole lot though. Prayer flashing Eagle Eye is a big help if you can get into the rhythm of it. I would suggest both the bolt types as Lady said. Use the Emerald (e) to poison, then switch to broad. Just make sure poison doesn't do more damage than you do, as I don't believe it will count as a kill then.

If you want the task done quickly, just kill the baby black dragons in the chaos tunnels near the green dragons. The adult black dragons are extremely slow exp, though if you like killing them, go ahead. If you want a bit of fun, you could also kill the KBD, though thats even slower exp. But yeah, for speed, baby black dragons.

im gonna stick to regular black drags cuz of the chance for a visage (i know how low it is, but ive already gotten one \ )
