There's a Wikibook on it, I don't know the quality of it but I've found most programming Wikibooks to be good enough to get a general idea. And yes, Java and JavaScript are two completely different languages. :P

I suggest you look on amazon.com; a basic Java textbook would be very useful.

Start here; the Java tutorials do a great job of explaining the first few nuisances and confusions for a beginner. I personally found the Wikibook to be a bit too full of filler, but it's alright. I'd go with the Java tutorials though.
