Odd, so what's a sufficient grade, a 7?

With the 1-10 scale a 5,5 (or 6) is sufficient, everything below a fail.

I also have 1-7 for my IB English, which has 4 at sufficient and everything below a fail.

4 is fail, 5-10 is pass.

The "school grade" system has historically been a scale of 0 to 10, but all grades lower than 4 have been discarded. Thus, it is now divided between 4, the failing grade, and 510, the succeeding grades.

ADD: Unless you meant like exams, then I think that 4-4½ is fail and 5- - 10+ is sufficient.
