Do you guys know how you hunt bears?

It's a lot like /FG/.

There are 2 groups. Posters, and drivers.

The posters stay in one spot and keep watch for any bears pushed out of hiding by drivers.

Drivers walk through dense areas yelling and whooping and hollering nonsense (vocal spamming) to push the bears out of the thick area to where the drivers can see them.

 

If there ever was an appropriate activity for /FG/ to do, it would be bear hunting/driving.

 

Where's Furrlo? My trigger finger is itchy.

bear looks pretty small...

I was going to say that too, but then my realistic side kick in and was like, perhaps its larger in real life.

Its only like 130 pounds, but that's roundabout average. It probably would have been heavier, but there was little food in the area. Apparently an early frost killed a lot of stuff like acorns and cherries that they normally eat, so it possibly could have been a lot bigger.

 

Another note:

I read a story whilst up there about a bear that they kept track of that I guess lived for 35 years and never really got over 180 lbs. So I guess some bears just don't get all that big. Not trying to make excuses, but hey you take what you can get.

Bear's in the area are somewhat of a pest. So in a sense you could argue it was bad, but I think you meant morally, which I can't say. You are correct in that I consider it to be somewhat of a sport. Whether it makes you feel better or not, we will eat the meat and make the hide into something.

Which alot of Anti-Hunters really do not take into consideration, they make it seem like all you do is shoot it and leave the thing out there. Which is not the case at all up here in Maine.

tbh I imagined him skinning and stuffing the bear as a trophy and giving the dogs the bear meat or something... :twisted:
