My dogs listen pretty well. I should say my older one listens very well, and my puppy is still learning how to listen.

I shall explain my reasoning, and proofs.

 

Dogs, as a pet have far more utility than cats, and far less downsides.

 

1. Dogs are loyal companions, and will almost always show you affection/Cats show you affection when they please, and when they are pissed about something can be quite tempermental

2. Most would-be burglars will actually pass up a house if they see signs of a dog, or hear one inside/ If you're a crazy cat lady a burglar might not be willing to take the risk to break into your home.

3. Dogs can be trained to assist in such tasks and hunting and trapping. My dog has also caught a few pests around my house./ Cats catch mice.

4. Train a dog to go outside, it will hold it for as long as it can until you let it outside/ Cats are trained to go in a litter box. They get pissed/ something about it they don't like, they'll go wherever they [bleep]ing well please.

5. Dogs throw up when they're sick/ Cats throw up when they clean themselves, which many do religiously.

6. You train a dog not to chew on certain stuff, it never does/ You teach a cat not to claw your couch, eat your plants, destroy EVERYTHING, even when provided with alternatives they still do.

My cats don't throw up that much. Maybe once every few months.

I wouldn't say mine do so a lot, but they do often enough that I find it to be a nuisance.

Same, not all cats throw up hair balls. But they sure do love eating plants and then throwing that up.

My cats are indoor cats, so they dont get the chance to eat plants outside.

They also don't eat the plants that are inside. They're pretty chill cats in general.

My cats only get pissy with each other, and one cat gives me attention, when I need it.

3 out of the 5 dogs we have are trained/ being trained for hunting. And my cats catch a [cabbage] load of mice/ birds, don't know who eats them or not.

Living in the country, my cats piss wherever the hell they want to that's not in my house.

Never seen any of my cats do the except when they are sick.

 

So in my position, its pretty much a tie, with dogs a little better though.

Pepsi's cats are probably outdoor though. So I guess that was a mildly unfair comparison, given the right environment, cats could be very useful catching vermin.

Personally I prefer dogs more because you're able to do more with them. I mean some people like cats for their own reasons, I like dogs for my own reasons. Shouldn't be one of those major contests where people go "AHA THIS PET IS BETTER THAN THAT PET", nah it just gets tiresome.

Provided cats live in the country, yeah they are good.

My cats are either way, they come in and out as they please. Baby has been in the house for like 3 days though, it's weird. I've said stuff about her before, she has a messed up eye, but that doesn't really affect her anymore.

So, one of my friends may now be baking me brownies.
