I think if i get a bunch of money from good investments or whatnot I'll go on individualized vacations with my family members. I'd take my mom to Africa for a while (she loves animals and whatnot especially elephants). I think I'd take my dad either Marlin fishing or big game hunting, since he's kind of a sportsman. My sister idk, her only obvious interest is reading, and somewhat religion. I don't think the Library of Congress is a great vacation, and I somehow doubt we'd get into the Vatican Archives. Touring the Cathedrals of Europe maybe?

Though, I assume that they're paying for food and housing and stuff, in which case it would be a fair amount. Not a ton, but a fair amount.

 

Also, you're getting a post-secondary education through the military, right? So, you'll have access to the internet and stuff for research and that kind of thing while you're studying, which means you'll be able to post on a fairly regular basis.

Yeah, not so much during Basic though.

Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember being told that Basic Training was like a month and a half or something. Not very long.

Boot Camp is 8 weeks, and then I think job training is 12 weeks. Also yes, I don't have to pay for food, housing, and whatnot. Also later as i understand it if I want to rent an apartment the Navy give me an allowance to do so. My training can carry over to be college credits so I can pretty much earn a degree without ever setting foot in a college. Also, I just was reading this, I can get a $250000 life insurance policy for $16 a month. And also 30 days paid leave per year.

 

Also, if I'm going on leave, and there's a plane going somewhere, if there's space, I can get on it, for free. So, properly planned I get pretty much free airfare.
