Just looked it up, its called Storm of Santa Rosa and happens every yaer between days before and after the 30th of August. Not sure if it has happened always, but there are record of it dating back as far as 1870.

 

Oh wait, missread the article, it only happened 16 times since 1861 in that date. Lame.
