June 6, 200917 yr I have some movie DVDs I would like to watch on my computer (not pirated, bought from a legit store). Windows Media Player keeps giving me an error message everytime I try to play a DVD on it! How could I fix this? If I can't, what free DVD playing programs are there that could run movies?

June 6, 200917 yr If you want to stay with Windows Media Player (What I personnally did, even with it taking a little more resources than VLC), you can download this codec pack.
June 7, 200917 yr VLC.No. If you want to stay with Windows Media Player (What I personnally did, even with it taking a little more resources than VLC), you can download this codec pack.Double no. http://cccp-project.net/ is what I use, and I find it to be more efficient than both VLC and K-lite. VLC has some annoying problems for me, such as crashing when I try to play 720p/1080p H.264/AVC-encoded video (hell, not even HD - sometimes it just crashes ANYWAY), barely average support for soft subtitles and blocking after opening a video. K-lite is basically CCCP's bloated twin. I mean, it works, but I would take the lighter CCCP over it. Install it with the Media Player Classic option, and you should be fine playing DVDs. (also, it has an option to register file extensions with WMP if you want to use that) Steam | Soup | Last.fm
June 7, 200917 yr It doesn't crash for me, so i disagree with everything you just said. And cccp... God damn communistic programs.
