99 range....

ok so i've been looking for a 99 to get and i really want to get a 99 that isnt completely "buyable"so i found one of two skills....99 theif or 99 range. I would perfer not to chin to 99 because its going to be hard for me to afford that so i was wondering whats other good ways i can get from 80 to 99?

Do a mix of Aviansies and chinning, you will get about 140k xp average with 0 profit/loss.

i seem to have a hard time doing avians because even using a setup that i was suggested for a higher range def(+274) im getting hit very often and very hard...what could i be doing wrong?

i dont have the money to cannon i only have about 3.4m and after i get my gear for avians i dont have too much left afterwords...what about getting 99 hunter?how long would it take me to get from 71-99 doing red chins?

Well obviously you need a cannon and you should bring 2k or so cannonballs.

 

 

 

You want to maximize your prayer bonus, but want to stay light. That means monk robes with a mitre. You can take a stole too if you want. Alternatively, you could use blessed dhide or armadyl. You don't really NEED the mitre or stole, but they're helpful.

 

 

 

You should take Ava's Device and a Fremmink Round Shield (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT).

 

 

 

Take a few prayer pots and a few low-leveled food. Go there, pray melee, set up the cannon, and range away. Just be sure to run around a little to check for drops in faraway places. The cannon shoots very far. The ideal spot is directly north of Jatizso.

The Females hit 6s with their ranged attack. With the Shield they only hit 2s. It seems insignificant but for anyone there for a long period of time, it's CRITICALLY important, esp. since monk robes offer no real defenses.

Anything that's good! Drop food if you need to, I mean the bank is literally 30 seconds away. I would leave anything under 2k just for convenience's sake, but if you have room take it. You can bank without even packing up your cannon, if you so chose.

 

 

 

But of most noteworthy mention are the herbs, seeds, granite shields, rune kiteshields, and rune warhammers. They really give you the money.

 

 

 

Oh btw, you could bring a familiar too. A Beast of Burden is very useful for the extra space so you bank less, but combat familiars really shine here since the bank is so darn close. The Karamthulu is the best low level familiar since it gives ranged xp too. Other than that, the only other range xp-giving GOOD combat familiar is the Geyser Titan. If you have neither, take the best thing you got. You have nothing to lose.

On Duradel's list (I refuse to name the new guy), you can cannon every task except Abyssal Demons, Waterfiends, Mithril Dragons, Gargoyles, and Nechs. Only 5, and 3 of them are high level monsters. You can range (regularly) every single task, proven in the guide mentioned above.

 

 

 

And plus, on some of those single-combat tasks there are safespots. If you safespot with a cannon, the cannon treats the area as multicombat as long as you aren't hit.

Read. I said you can CANNON every task except those 5, but you can RANGE every single task.

 

 

 

You can't cannon abby demons because you can't take a cannon into the Tower (or at least you can't set it up). I don't think you can bring it to the Alternate Abyss, but even if you could, it wouldn't be very efficient there.
