Thieving guide - pickpocket comment...

Recommended Posts

Is it just me, or you have WAY FAR better results while pickpocketing the npc's from behind??

I've had up to 15-20 non failing streaks when they're giving me their back, and for sure I haven't gone with the same luck while pickpocketing "face to face".

If other users can support this, maybe you should just add a small comment suggesting this in the guide.

It's just luck, there's no line of sight when it comes to thieving.

Personally, I prefer staring my knight in the face while I deftly reach my hands into it's metal pockets and take the money out.

anyway OT: i agree as well, i say its coincidence because when i pickpocketed, i pretty much got around the same results whether the npc was facing towards or away from me

Yeah, we looked into several things like this a few years ago, with no provable results.

If you wanted to try several hundred picks from the front, and several hundred from the back, and record your success rate, I would be happy to look over the data. As you can see, changing something significant on the website requires some heavy in-game research to confirm it.

However, your post is appreciated, I can understand wanting to get more specifics on pickpocketing as it's such a weird skill, lol.

Please do post a topic in the future if you do a bunch of research, it's always welcome.

it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
