Does this build look ok?

Can you check and make sure this build works? Most of these are on sale today, but I was wondering if you thought I might get a better deal around July 4. I'm trying to keep the price under $800.

I wouldn't buy a 775 system now. It's a dying system, as it will get replaced by i5.

Either do this:

AMD Phenom II X3 710 2.6GHz - 119$

ECS BLACK SERIES A790GX - 110$

Crucial 4GB DDR3 1066 - 59$ - You can put heatspreaders on yourself if you want to.

Much more price-worthy and more performance than your components, or wait for i5 (comes in a couple of months).

The PSU in your case... I have no idea what it is. There's no information given.

COOLER MASTER Elite 330 - 40$

BFG Tech 550W - 50$

CM cpu cooler for ze AMD cpu - 20$

Is there anything different about that cooler?

I knew I was going to build a computer this summer, and saw lots of the parts on sale today, so it was more of a spur-of-the-moment type of thing. As none of what you suggested is on sale right now, I might just wait until the core i5 comes out, or another sale, to see if any of these go on sale.

Is this PSU any better? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371006

EDIT: Another question:

How much better is the 720/ is it worth it for the price increase?

XIGMATEK HDT-S963 - 25$ - Actually choose this one instead (if you're going for AMD). PWM controlled, which the other one i linked didn't have.

I couldn't see any "special deal" on your Intel components. Yours and my respective setup costs about the same, but you get more for your money on mine. If i've missed something, please link.

I don't know how high prices will be for the i5, probably quite high now the first 6months after it's release. The Core2 cpus have fallen in price quite alot.

Your antec psu is good. But i'd still go for the one i linked, you get more juice from the 12v rails on it.

Of course, if you're going with a seperate psu than you don't need your case. (I just picked the cooler master case as it's quite price-worthy)

Well, you get 200mhz more on it+unlocked multiplier (better for overclocking). Up to you if it's worth it or not. And in any case, the 710 is pretty good for overclocking anyway.

There's some great deals there. Especially the MS webcam, 35$!

But i still maintain that the 710 is a better choice. For 10$ more you get an extra core. But it's up to you.

That monitor looks like a pretty good deal also. I was thinking I'll wait off on the e7400 and most likely get the 710. Thanks for all your help.

I was just going to use the rc, and buy a copy of windows a little bit later.

Release candidates aren't designed to be used domestically - they have been released for testing and not normal use.

I know, but I'll still wait until march to shell out money for windows 7.

If you already orderd it and it's on it's way - great.

Otherwise i recommend: CORSAIR 400CX - 56$ (46 after rebate)

I agree with oldjoe. In your price range, a Phenom 2 is more powerful. Unless you wish to go with a core 2 quad (against which the phenom is competitive) the Phenom is a better deal.
