hmm, what i did was create boolean object, and i picked the mug, ctrl + clicked it and picked torus, then deleted it, and picked a glass, then made another cylinder inside and picked a water, then made a cube, streatched it out, and made it white metal and rested the glass of water on it, rendered and added the shrimp in photoshop. o and i just used plain white background for my bg...

HUH? lol

:S

ok click the little arrow beside create, and pic mug from the boolean object thing. then control + click in the area where the torus is, and pick the torus from the thing that pops up, delete the torus, now highlight the cylinders and pick a glass material for them. thats how i made my glass, but then i went on and told u how i did my water and stuff too...

You are doing the right thing man...ignore the small pic that shows the glass being dark... just hit render...dont ask me why it shows the glass dark in the preview but it wont be dark in your actual render.

IDPUP, sorry man, but it still looks like the water is outside of the glass. Maybe it's the view or something? Try the view Dameien used.

Aldeon, sorry man... but that sig is both over-sized and really blurry. :(

Dameien, you're currently in the lead (sorry IDPUP... :( ). Only if you could move the glass more to the left, and make the water look more fluid-ish. It currently looks a lot like an ice-cube. :P

Also, could you tone down the colour of the water a notch or two? Like only a small tint of blue. Also, could you remove the shadow? :)

A big thanks to all of you for trying! :)

Not a problem man, its not the view. Its the fact that the I tinted the liquid blue to make it look better. If you notice on dameiens blue water it did the same thing to his glass.

I am re-rendering it without the blue tint to the water, and see how ya like that.

IDPUP :)

what about my first one? still look like an ice cube? anyway I'm re-rendering it with a different water texture and moving it to the left more... and we'll see how it turns out.

IDPUP, yay! Great! >_<

Dameien, I didn't really like the colour on the first one, either - it looked grey. Great that you're giving it another go, also. :)

o well maybe i can send u the .br5 file over msn or something and u can make the water look good by urself, not hard, find a good material and junk...

That's great! But the shadow is still there...

And the glass is somewhat outside of the picture. >_<

ok i can fix that in aobut 3 seconds. and i can put the galss back in the pic :D

  • Author

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait! One more thing, can you alter the glass so that I can add a shadow under it myself!

Lol, I'm such a bastard. Sorry. :P

lol thats ok, the only difference is that the glass is a bit smaller to make some room underneath it so u could put in the shadow, anyway here you go :D

shrimp6.jpg

grr, i keep forgetting to add a border to these pics, o well, u can do that if u want :D

Hmmm, I'm not sure... there's something that looks wrong in it... but I can't put my finger on it...

I think need to see IDPUP's try first...

thats ok, I'm not a master in bryce, I only use it to make abstracts... the glass is a little small and a little tilted, I can make it straighter and a little bigger if u want.

Hah, dude... be my guest. Fiddle around. But don't feel forced to, though. I've nagged too much on you guys already. :P

Here is my revision...

I am afraid this is the best i can do to make it look like the liquid is inside the glass not in the glass material... It looks right to me but you be the judge perhaps I am missing something ;)

I'm bumping this, since I will be away basically all this week. Read my journal at voltageforums.com where I specify it a bit more.
