betting on castle wars

Featured Replies

It could work like this:

talk to a bookey(sp?) in the cw lobby, and place a bet on either team. you have to bet in increments of 1000gp, and you can only bet on 1 team per game. If the team you bet on wins, you recieve 1 ticket for every 1000 gp you placed. If your team loses, you get nothing.

You can bet on a game from 5 minutes before it starts until 10 minutes before it ends. When you talk to the booky, a window comes up. This is where you place your bet. In the window is time remaining in the current game(if it has started already) and the score at the moment.

You may play in a game you've bet on, but if you do you only recieve half of the normal tickets you would(of course, your team still has to win, and you still only get half tickets even if you're on the losing team.)

you can't bet while the game is in progress, you cant bet and play

besides that its good

Lower level players play cwars also, if someone bets a lot and ends up losing it because of the lower leveled players being killed by players almost 30+ levels higher, then that would piss people off. Because you did say the team has to win and not single player objectives.

It not good because theres always one smart alex that goes and cheats, bets on one game swiches worlds enters the wars then logs off and back on to the previous world. He goes in has 1mill riding on his team loseing so magicly his team loses because hes got their flag behind 10 barcadies with their defending it. So no bad idea.

You need to think about the worlds because it is not like ours

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Won't work. On smaller servers, a few high levels could easily get together, get someone to place a large bet and win.

Yup. I agree. Also, gambling itself is tricky. In general, if you add it to a game you might be met with criticism, since gambling can be addictive just like alcohol/drugs. Yes, that's not a super serious concern, but some do care about that.

I'd just get a few high level ancient mages to guard the flag, bid 1 mill, and woot, tons of ticks :P

Another easy way to introduce billions of gp into the game? Great idea.

Nice idea but it's waaaaaaaay too easy to rig as said before by going to an empty server and getting a bunch of high levels against some low levels.
