Like Necro stated, use MS-Paint. As photoshop is harder to get ahold of (if you want to stay legal) and takes a while to get used to the interface and tools, MS-Paint is very very basic and helps when making isometric [box - symmetric] designs when you are starting out. Google "pixel image tutorials" or something of the like and pratice in MS-Paint before you plan on jump starting into Misterxman quality images :P
