70 Thieving

I havent trained Thieving in ages so I've completely forgotten half the stuff necessary.

I plan on PP'ing to get 70. I dont know what I should have in my inventory and if I should use any familiars and whatnot. So a list of what I need and etc would be VERY helpful!

 

Also I dont have Sophanem bank up.

1-2 Antipoisons, the prayer book you get from that one quest, Great Brain Robbery I think and the rest monkfish. I think thats pretty much it.

You don't really need it, but it heals poison for the cost of some pray points(forgot how many). You can substitute it with another monk or anti.

Yep, that's pretty much it. Inventory should just be a couple super antipoisons and food. You'll want to wear lightweight armor, dhide top & bottom are good along with any weight-reducing gear you have like lightness boots, penance gloves, spottier cape, etc. As for familiars, a spirit terrorbird might be useful for its energy restore, though you probably won't need it. Bunyip would probably be a better choice to reduce your food intake.

 

My banking method is to have a pharoah's sceptre and ring of dueling equipped. I use the sceptre to get to the pyramid, and when I run out of food/anti/etc, I use the duel ring to bank at castle wars. You'll need to save some of your artifacts to recharge the sceptre (I only save the gold ones, personally).

 

When I'm in the minigame, I run through all the beginning rooms, then at the 2nd to last room I can get in, I search urns until the timer hits the halfway point, then move on to the last room with just enough time to theive everything.

If you want, but you shouldn't have to use up your prayer all the way even without them. I didn't use anti's and used brews for 99 thief, but I was VERY inefficient and do not reccomend my method for others.

I don't think waterskin or gold is necessary, unless you're planning to walk there or take magic carpets. But other than that, yea it looks good to me ;D

 

You might find that after a couple trips you'll want to bring more or less antipoison, so just kinda mess around with it until you get it just right.

If you have done the quest Contact!, you have access to a bank in Sophanem. I personally had an inventory of 4 Super anti poison (4) pots and 24 monks. Take a does of potion at the beginning of each game, it last 5 minutes, conveniently the same amount of time a game of pyramid plunder lasts.

I kind of like the Sorceress' Garden for those 4 levels you need. I managed to get a bunch of ranarrs while looting the summer squirk tree from 68 to 70 recently...

 

 

 

EDIT: you don't get the herbs from taking from the tree, obviously, but the herbs were a nice diversion from the usual two summer squirk runs in a row...
