Now if your talking about range strength of a weapon then yes it does increase the damage.

 

 

 

Maybe I'm reading this wrong.. But range strength of a weapon is not affected by the Strength skill (which as you said is melee only). Range strength is affected by the ammo (better arrows).

 

 

 

Edit: Whoops, like sadukar said below, range strength is only affected by the ammo.. which makes sense. Ranged strength is new to me as it wasnt around years ago when I played.

Only the AMMO give ranged strength. Or ONLY throwing weapons.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong.. But range strength of a weapon is not affected by the Strength skill (which as you said is melee only). Range strength of a weapon is affected by your range armor and weapons (better arrows, range armor, amulets, and [cross]bows all increase range strength).

 

Range Strength is only affected by the ammo that is being used. (bolts, arrows, knives, darts etc.) Range attack is affect by the armor, weapon and the part of the ammo that is range attack. You max range is a mix of your range level and range str i believe.

Yeah, you guys are right.. I was wrong about range strength (it's new to me.. wasn't around years ago when I played).
