If you're not sure what drivers to download go to Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > Sound, Video and Game Controllers That should be your sound card, if there is more than one then it should be the one to do with audio. Right click on it and select Update Driver Software... Steam | PM me for BBM PIN Nine naked men is a technological achievement. Quote of 2013. PCGamingWiki - Let's fix PC gaming! sloter
Actually, after installing XP, did you install your drivers? I was kind of thinking the same. After thinking about it if he has to post about this topic I am thinking he used the automated recovery disc or partition that come with prebuilt computers. A lot of them will install the drivers for you. I could be wrong though. If your computer is prebuilt please provide us with the maker and model. Sbrideau
The thing is that when I had such a partition, it didn't install the drvers for me, I had to install them from the website. It's the same for my friend that still has a recovery partition on his computer. I find it weird that not all those recovery partitions have the drivers in them, at least the drivers from when they started making that specific model of computer. Anyway, I think we should get back on topic lol.
J35u5_M4
First, did you buy your PC pre-built? If you did then start getting all your drives, sound, graphic (You might not have installed this yet, but I don't know), if you bought the components of the computer, like I did, start installing the Motherboard Driver, that one should include your sound driver (It did for me), install the Graphics Card Driver and any other software driver (Printer, Wireless Device and such) It all depends if you have the CD drivers with you, if you do start installing them, starting with the Motherboard one, if not then try to find a list of all your devices that require a driver and start getting them
Orpheus
Yeah, you'll need your sound drivers again. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.
