Exp and GP per hour

Featured Replies

For techniques available now, what are the best exp and gp rates per hour for combat? I'm not just asking for the absolute best, so just a few responses about AZs or Yaks or Ape Atoll, please. I'm wondering what a player with 80s melee stats might expect from a typical trip to some of the better monsters such as basilisks, dust devils, fire giants, etc.

basilisks are terrible to train on, their defence is way too high.

Orly? I never had a problem hitting them.

99s across the board...

But anyways, basilisks do drop a lot of nats, fire giants are still ok $ with the occasional rune scim/arrows. Dusties drop lots of alchables like red vambs so they are ok too. As for charms, basilisks drop greens, dusties drop 1 crim out of 4 average kills and fire giants drop lots of golds.

Sure, with 99 attack :D

In all seriousness, though, fire giants or dust devils are better for training.

Yes when i started playing i was instantly 99.

I was talking actual data on experience and gp per hour. Not relative rates such as "fire giants are better" or "dusties are ok." I thought I made that clear..

So in hindsight, does anyone have any data on gp per hour or experience per hour for common melee training?

well, green dragons can reportedly net you 400-500k an hr at chaos tunnels using beasts of burden.

I'm not going to include impractical training options. No one goes to GWD or Green Dragons to train combat. They do it for money, and the xp is just a bonus, if anything. I'll only list practical training options. If you want to know the best combat moneymakers, it would be in the pool of TDz, GWD, and DKS.

Armored Zombies are best for money. 100k xp per hour and 180k profit per hour.

Dhing Skeleton Monkeys using a whip to finish them off gets over 140k xp per hour, but is costly (over 150k per hour I believe).

With 80's stats you could probably get 90k exp per hour max with void, 85k without, not sure about the profit, but you could probably get around 100k an hour if you pick up all of the ranarrs. You'd get a lot less exp if you don't pay attention a lot, messing up picking drops etc.

Dust devils would be around 70k exp per hour + a combat familiar's exp, you'd probably get 200k an hour if you could sell your fire runes, more if you got a few half keys.

Mighty Banshees would be around 80k per hour (10% strength) + combat familiar, and around 300k gp. Yeah, I know you didn't ask about mighty banshees, but they're actually pretty good.

well i did fire giants from 90-99 str and got around 14m total profit because i used a lot of pineapple pizzas at 73 def i averaged about 58-60k exp an hour super potted with d scim so whip might add about 6-7k exp(i was 75 atk and 73 def that whole time)
