Good strategy for 99 strength?

So right now, I plan on getting my Attack and Defense to 85 with a whip and then using a D skim/sara sword to get to 99 strength. But Im only saying that because I want to level slayer up as well, so Im going to be slaying for all these levels.

This a good or bad idea?

Well the recommended level before getting a melee 99 is 85 Rounded, so you got that right. And really, slayer isnt a 'bad' way to train, especially if you like it and will probably kill higher level monsters.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

I know that most people are getting tires of this answer, but why not Slay it to 99? I was never much of a slayer fan but i must admit that i now find it very enjoyable. Not only can i train 3 skills at once (Attack + HP + Slayer) but it keeps me from getting bored thanks to the different tasks. And besides that, once you get to a decent Slayer level you will never have to worry about finding a money making method ever again.
