Firefox history/pop-up problem

For some reason, whenever I open a new webpage theres always the chance a random site will pop up. These sites range from University to muslim dating :?

Also, FF isn't remembering anything, for example, i click the "log me on everytime" buttom for TIF, but the next time, I still have to log in again. This is also a problem on the RS mainpage as there is an AD, and I have clicked "dont show this page again" but it doesn't work. It's getting very frustrating :x

Help please? Thank you :)

From what it seems like I think your computer may have some sort of adware on it. That's probably what's causing random sites to pop up. Try running a virus scan and see if anything comes up.

As for Firefox not remembering anything, that could either be the possible adware virus or you may have cookies disabled.

To check you cookies go to Tools>Options>Privacy and make sure you have "Accept cookies from sites" enabled.

Yeah, I'd agree it sounds like you have some adware possibly; does the same problem happen with other browsers?

As for not remembering your login, I'd try Tools > Clear Recent History and make sure everything is checked. I remember someone tried this before and it seemed to do the trick.

I tried clearing history, but that didn't work.

I ran spybot and it said it didn't find anything, do I need to run a virus scan with something like norton?

Still looking for help

Get a better virus scanner, Norton works wonders.
