Alching fail

Featured Replies

I was wondering if something could be implemented to show that you're alching something that shouldn't be alched, say, if the Grand Exchange price of the item was over 10k the alch value. This is because there was a bug or something where I equipped the Rune Full Helm I was trying to alch and accidentally alched my Slayer Helm.

I piety the fool.

This isn't a bug, perhaps some lag at that. But you have to be more careful. Sorry for your loss of 600k.

No, it's a suggestion. ;)

I reckon there needs to be some kind of failsafe involving a warning message that can be toggled. I've yet to unintentially alch anything worse than a Rune Scimitar, but I can imagine how bad it must be to alch a whip, or worse.

Be more careful. I understand it was probably lag, and your idea is exactly what would be needed to solve the problem of people alching the wrong things. But, I don't think there's enough need for it to implemented.

Nemo vir est qui mundum non reddat meliorem..

Wait until you accidentally alch you GS or DFS.

Once I came across a story of someone's friend who was alching with his explorers ring. He accidentally alched his 3a platelegs.

[hide=A funny conversation]Me:Have u wondered how my brassard, which leaves my chest bare, give about the same def as ur pile of rocks?

Friend:Hahaha

Friend:Maybe you are just good at blocking with your shoulder?

Me:Ahahahahaha[/hide]Rare drops: 4 D legs, 1 D skirt

This has been around since the genesis of alching. Ever since then, people have accidentally alched valuables. I haven't personally done it yet, but the chances of me doing it in the futures are fairly high. It's such a common spell, and with the items we get/bring to training spot/alching training, it becomes not a question of "will", but a question of "when".

We all share, or will share your pain. But, sorry, there's simply nothing that can be done. The cure would most likely be worse than the disease, as there are practical items people alch that are in your "valuable" range (rune swords, for one). The issue has been around for a very long time, but just taking a few extra precautions, whether its rearranging your inventory setups or just not rushing when you alch, can greatly reduce the chances of this occuring.

Sorry that you lost your slayer helm, but it simply can't be helped. What you CAN do is learn from this to be more careful. Personally, I don't even bring alching runes to training spots anymore. If it's not worth my carrying to the bank at the end of the trip, it probably wasn't worth it anyway.

If its 500k over alch value, you should need to click alch, then ok to alch it.

Because you don't practically alch something that crap.

O.O

I alched a whip when they were about 6mil, and an easter egg when they were 1mil.

Most people can learn from their own mistakes. (I have done... :wall: )

Sounds like a good idea - would stop alot of whingers. Should only be if the g/e market price is over 500k or something.
