September 7, 200916 yr I have a 19" TV that I want to use as a second monitor (basically my Mum has stolen my Wii to use with her Wii Fit). I have a Nvidia 512mb 8600GT with Two DVI slots. My TV can use HDMI, and I know that HDMI to DVI works (minus the audio, but I have a BOSE system connected to my computer, so that doesn't matter). Here are the specs (if it matters): Windows XP Home 32bit 4GB RAM (only uses 3 due to 32bit) 512MB 8600GT AMD Athlon X2 4400+ and the TV is an Acoustic Solutions LCDW19HDF. It's native resolution is the same as my monitor's (1440x900), so I assume it wont conflict. Yes, I know HDMI only carries Standardised HD resolutions like 720p, 1080i etc. This is the cable I was looking at: http://www.cableuniverse.co.uk/catalog/ ... cable.html Before you suggest that I should upgrade my computer, I will be upgrading it in the near future (hopefully around January). i don't run anything too intensive besides Photoshop CS4, so it shouldn't cause too many problems there. September 7, 200916 yr I don't know why you would need to upgrade your computer, it looks fine to me. I have a DVI to HDMI adapter on my computer and has a resolution of 1680x1050 on that screen, so I think any resolution can go through HDMI, it just depends on what the TV can have as resolution. I do remember seeing adapters that had a separate DVI and sound input and had an HDMI output.

I also have a Nvidia graphics card so assuming you graphics card has the capability to dual screen you should probably be able to set it up the same way I did it. So go ahead an hook everything up then.... Start -> Control Panel -> NVIDIA Control Panel........ Under Display (On the left) -> Set up multiple displays I think it pretty self explanatory from there, but if it helps I have mine set up as 'Configured independently from each other (Dualview)' then in the drop down box make sure that the primary monitor is listed first.
