So ive come back to runescape after a couple years of not playing...have alot of time on my hands now so i figured id make a ranger.

 

 

 

Current stats are:

 

Str 1

 

Atk 1

 

Def 1

 

Range 76

 

Magic 41

 

HP 64

 

 

 

I am probably not gonna start pking until im 85+ range. My question is, should I stay 1 def or go 40, 70, or higher... ?

 

 

 

What are the pros and cons of each option ?

well go try being just a range pure and see how you like it, then later you can decide to add defense.

 

Pros of a range pure: Cheap equipment

 

cons: Low defense means more likely to get hit

 

 

Pros of a range tank: Very hard to KO

 

Cons: expensive gear, higher combat level (which translates into more godsword/claw pures)

if you cant decide on one go for a mix, get your defence high enough to wear some better armor but keep it low so ur cb stays low

 

 

 

or just go all out w/ 99 range/def/hp

Tank. Lvl 90 Range Tank with Vengeance and 94 Range is very hard to beat.

Im personally going 40 def and 85 ranged on my char, later getting 70 def when im 95+ range. Range tanks really shine nowadays IMO.

many factors, are you f2p or p2p? do you like higher cb or lower cb pking? 1v1 or multi?

your combat is really low for your range, im sure your pretty well off, so atm i would stay at 1 defence.
