  1. In terms of time, slayer, agility, and runecrafting are all the slowest.
  2. Worst thing I've ever been caught doing at school is getting in a "fight" when me and my friend were just pushing each other around. The school security guy sent us both to the office and we both got a detention.
  3. I would be eternally grateful if someone could find a website that sold this shirt in large. http://www.esl-shop.net/product_info.php/products_id/934 I've been trying to track that down for a month now with no luck...
  4. I've never voted for jagex in the golden joystick awards and I never will simply because I don't agree with how their game is run. Don't get me wrong, I think its fun, but I don't think they deserve an award for it after how they treat the playerbase.
  5. Hello everyone, for various reasons I am now in possession of a broken i5-2500 CPU. Now, a local tech store sells the same model CPU that I want, so I was wondering if I could do something like this: 1: Buy new CPU with cash. 2: A few days later, return the package and everything that came with it, except swap the nice new CPU for my broken one. Basically, is this even possible? Or are there like, systems to prevent that?
  6. So I'm trying for the firecape again, but I can't seem to ever actually beat Jad, I've gotten there three times and I can never seem to get the prayer switching down. It seems like no matter how early I pray for his attacks he hits me. I know that when he rises up and slams the ground thats his range attack, and that when he lowers his head and grows a ball on his back thats magic. So my question is how early do I have to switch? Is it too late already if the attack has already left and is traveling towards me? Or is it only too late after the attack has actually hit me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
  7. Okay phew! That was a lot harder than I had anticipated... So basically, there is a sensor on my motherboard that monitors CPU temperature, and it was glitched/broken and always read that my CPU was something like 90 to 100 degrees celsius. There was a built in lock down system that was kicking in and restarting my computer and bringing it back to the BIOS. After disabling my motherboard thermometer I managed to install windows 7 just fine. Thanks for the advice everyone.
  8. Hello again everyone! I'm trying to install windows 7 on my new PC that I've been building, but I'm having some problems. I can get it to install just fine until it needs to restart itself, at which point it will turn off, but then seemingly forget everything it was doing and bring me back to the BIOS. I've tried installing wondows 7 three times now and to no avail. What should I do? Also, the red BOOT_DEVICE LED is on, indicating a problem, but I have no idea as to what could be the problem, any suggestions as to what I should try doing to make this go away? Sorry if my post seems a bit lacking in formation, I'm a bit stressed right now about the whole thing, so if you need more information please just post asking for it. Thanks!
  9. Alright after unhooking and rehooking everything in my computer and pressing the MEM-OK button on my motherboard, and using a new monitor, I have managed to get to the BIOS! Yay! Thanks for all the great advice everyone. Now I'm pretty sure that this isn't a terrible problem but it is kind of funny nonetheless, when I got to the BIOS, theres a built in thermometer on my motherboard to read CPU temp, and for some reason it read 5000 degrees fahrenheit...so either my thermometer is broken or my CPU is hotter than the surface of the sun.
  10. Actually I think I identified the source of the problem, the little red LED next to my RAM is on, indicating a problem with my RAM. Fortunately the sabertooth motherboard comes with a MEM-OK button, but this is still kind of a bummer because my RAM says it was optimized for a P67 motherboard. I'm going to go try that then I'll post back here. Just confirming, an error with my RAM would prevent my computer from entering its BIOS stage, right?
  11. Oh shoot, I forgot to add my CPU, which I will do here: CPU Second, the old monitor is kind of a long story, I'm supposed to save half of what I earn from my job for college, but I wanted to finish my computer before the end of the summer so I struck a deal with my parents that I would keep all the money until I got all the essentials for my computer, then I would save 1500$, then I could buy the peripherals. So that is why I have a monitor that still uses VGA. Also, is it bad that when my computer starts up, there is no beep?
  12. Hello again Tip.It tech forum, first off, thanks for all the really great advice on computers you've all given me over the last few months, without you guys I would still be thinking that my hard drive was where my disks went, or wondering what "GHz" were, and why they were so darn expensive. So really, thanks. So, I finally got all the pieces of my computer assembled and turned it on for the first time today (without hooking it up to a monitor yet) and it went well I think. It sort of "blinked" on for a sec, where all the lights and fans and stuff were illuminated, then turned off for a few seconds (scariest moment of my life) then turned on and stayed on for about a minute, at which point it actually turned off for good it seems. So far it seems like this is all that it can do. My first question is, is it normal that my computer is doing this? Or is there some sort of fatal error that I don't know about? (just to clarify, it DOES still turn on, it just goes through the same cycle I described of on for a second, off for a few seconds, then on for a minute, then off until I press the power button again) Second, when I attached a monitor to my computer, the monitor seemed unresponsive, and didn't start up. I'm assuming this is bad. I'm also assuming that this is somehow the fault of the monitor because its like, over 5 years old and still uses a VGA pin, and to even plug it into my GPU I needed a DVI to VGA adaptor. My question is how do I get the BIOS to show up on a monitor? Thanks for any advice! Specs: Motherboard GPU RAM HDD Power supply CPU
  13. OEM will do fine you say? Wow, that made my day. Also, why should I go for premium or Ultimate, I thought that the only difference was the number of applications I got, and that it didn't affect performance.
  14. Hello good people of the tech forum, I've been building a computer from scratch, and I'm getting down to buying my last part, the OS. (I saved this one for last because, lets face it, this is probly the most boring thing you can buy when building a computer.) I'm going with Windows 7, but I'm a bit confused about which "version" to buy. I can either buy this, the 100 dollar version, or this one, the 200$ one. The reason I ask this is because I think I heard someone say that the 100$ one only works if you have a previous Windows OS on your computer already, and that its only an "upgrade", hence the cheaper pricetag, whereas the 200$ one is the full fledged OS in all its as-excited-as-you-can-get-about-a-200-dollar-disk glory. So my question is, would the cheaper one cover me? Or do I need to shell out 200 because I'm starting from a blank slate? Also, feel free to comment on the rig I've built: Case: RAIDMAX SMILODON Extreme Black Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz GPU: MSI N560GTX Twin Frozr II/OC GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 RAM: G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache (The rest isn't cool and spec-ish, so I won't bother posting it) Thanks for any advice!
  15. Yeah I agree, nowadays players are just sort of...there, and unless I'm bosshunting or playing a minigame (both happen rarely) then I almost never interact with people. The trade system of pre GE RS was much more social, and personally I liked how there were sort of regional trading spots, like Seers village for bow strings, or Yanille for alchemy supplies. That said, the GE is a great update, and I don't think I could go back to not having it. As for MMOs without some sort of auction house, well Eve online has no world wide auction house, but rather regional markets in the form of trade hubs, though trade is done almost everywhere, it is done much more en masse at trade hubs.
  16. I'm not a fan of this update, not because I feel ripped off that Jagex is rewarding its paying members with bonus content, but by the fact that it can't be obtained by playing. This (along with the gamestop sword thing) marks the first content in the game that cannot be obtained no matter what your skill level. Depending on the amount of time it takes to acquire the loyalty rewards and the attravtiveness of the rewards, it could severely lower the incentive to start playing a year or two from now, as new players could be too daunted/unwilling to have to pay that long just to get even with Mr. veteran who has been playing for years. I'm fine with offering cosmetic rewards to an extent, but if it gives any sort of bonus then I think this is just bogus.
  17. If I'm playing a game and it comes down to a really intense moment and I loose, I can get pretty angry for a sec, but then I just keep on playing the game. Like, if I'm playing battlefield, and I'm disarming an M-COM, and I get killed right as I'm about to disarm it, I'll probly let loose a few choice words.
  18. Probly my oldest picture. Was I really ever that nooby? o_O
  19. I voted yes and I stand by my vote. Despite the fact that free trade means scammers and bots, it also means that people like me can do nice things again, like giving money to new players. If you ask me there is nothing more fun in this game than giving a noob 100k.
  20. "I'm sorry Tom, but a kid on the internet told me that the game you like isn't a good game. See you... never." lol'd irl
  21. I care, but not to the point of stressing about it (probably since I've never weighed more than 150 and I'm six foot) but if it ever got out of hand I would definitely do something about it.
  22. So coolest thing ever happened while I was playing rush on oasis today, I hit the enemy UAV with the main gun of my tank. I felt pretty badass, not gonna lie. Oh, and about the whole COD vs. BF, I really don't care that COD will make more money, I've never had more moments of sheer adrenaline rush while playing a video game than I have while playing battlefield. The way I see it, COD is more of an arcade shooter (little reward for working as a team, running around willy-nilly is okay) whereas BF is more of a tactical shooter (NOTE: not realistic shooter). The thing that really sets battlefield games apart in my mind is the vehicle combat, and I'm not just saying that because I'm a damn good tank driver. (not trying to brag, but driving tanks is what I do best in battlefield games)
  23. Before you get too bogged down with anything, I would suggest you just have some fun, explore, run around, try some minigames, whatever. I remember when I first got members that first week was probly the most fun I've ever had in runescape.
  24. Yup, plus points for using the F2000. I've never been a fan of that gun. Yeah seriously, once I hit the M146 I never looked back. God I love that gun, its my second favorite gun in any battlefield game ever. My favorite was the heavy assault rifle from battlefield 2142, man I had some good times with that. Has anyone here even played 2142?
  25. Look, I'm not going to lie, there is nothing you can say to me that will make me believe that goldfarming in Chinese prisons is even on the top 100 list of things that needs to be fixed in this world right now. Anyone who thinks so should watch CNN for a few days. Plus, we should be proud of China, in all their long history of human rights abuse, this is a far cry from the "great leap forward" which caused the deaths of over twenty million Chinese people, or the "great proletarian revolution" which decapitated any form of educated leadership outside the communist party. Seriously, if this is the worst story you've heard all week, you live in an extreme bubble.
