Various errors
About my problem with the router, when these random disconnection spikes occur, my computer still says that its connected to the internet, it just can't load any pages. Any suggestions as to what hard drive I should buy? I would like it to be decent at least, but without breaking the bank. My hard drive is one of the few pieces of my computer that I haven't replaced at some point, so I'm very inexperienced when it comes to shopping for them, is it sort of a "one size fits all" deal, or would I need to make sure to get the right size?

Various errors
Hello everyone, I've been having some trouble with my computer lately and have been getting several problems with my computer overall, and some help and advice would be very much appreciated. Problem 1: My connection is sometimes great, and then minutes later, I'll get repeated "errors" and it will say things like "my connection timed out". I find this strange because just a few months ago I bought myself a Belkin wireless N+ router. What is causing this to happen? If its worth anything, I'm almost always browsing on google chrome, and have windows vista 32 bit. Problem 2: My disk drive no longer "reads" disks. I'll pop a disk in to try and install something/play a game that I've already installed and nothing happens, my disk drive just sits there. How can I solve this problem? I'm hoping to upgrade my operating system to windows 7 soon and the idea of not being able to use the disk once I purchase it is not very appealing. Problem 3: What would happen to my computer if I upgraded to windows 7? I'm kind of hoping that it will almost start my computer from scratch again, because I have a lot of junk and errors on my current computer. My question is, what will happen to my computer? Sorry if this is a lot to ask, but I'm really stuck, if you need information that I have not provided just post it and I'll try to give it to you. Thanks!

Woox16 quitting RS + interview
Wasn't there already a thread about woox quitting? Also, I don't see the big issue of woox quitting, sure he was one of the more celebrated players, but I'd bet that dozens pf players quit on the sigil glitch day.

Dunge
Hi everyone, I'm currently 47 dunge and my long term goal is to get to 80, but man is it taking forever! I was wondering, how do I more efficiently train this skill? Are there any groups I should go with? Really, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like now as a slayer you can make more raw materials enter the economy than a gatherer... interesting.

Sometimes I feel like Jagex only does QA testing when they feel like it.

Maxing out my acc!
OP: "hey my family's car is getting old and i'd like to make some money to afford a new one" you: "you should take all of your savings, sell your old car, then gamble all the money. you'll have that new car in no time, gambling is such good money!" Or you could eliminate the risk completely and have your money doubled by one of those nice scammers legitimate players.

Changes to Lunar 'other' spells in single-way combat
I'm not saying that something needed to be done, I'm just saying that I think a better alternative would have been some sort of hard counter to these spells.

Changes to Lunar 'other' spells in single-way combat
Maybe you're reading the quote that started this thread differently than me, but the way that I interpreted it was that Jagex decided that it was no longer fair to allow the ___ other spells to be used in single-combat, so they decided to change it.

Changes to Lunar 'other' spells in single-way combat
I disagree because if you ask me, Jagex needs a more creative solution to combat imbalances than to just bust out the ole' nerf bat and go crazy. By nerfing new and creative tactics, they back themselves into a corner, and you end up with people just standing around in edge just waiting to be rushed. What Jagex needs to do to fix its problems is create a counter. Maybe, make a spell that disables assist for ten minutes, or make a spell that can "steal" the assists that another player is recieving. There could be a shield that reduces the damage of vengance but gives a combat penalty on the wearer, or some bolts that cause another player to potentially lose some spec/health when that target is venged or spec transferred or health transferred. I think that overall, expansions to the PvP combat system are better than nerfs. How in the world was this a nerf? In what reality is a multi-combat spell supposed to work in single-combat? If you can prove that these MULTI-COMBAT (AS IN MEANT ONLY FOR MULTI-COMBAT) spells were always supposed to work in single-combat (keyword: supposed), you'll have every right to call this a 'nerf,' but until then you just sound like a moron. Please don't call me a moron for just stating my ideas, I am only trying to have a respectful discussion, and I understand that you disagree with me, but there is no need for name calling. Either way, to answer your remark, I call it a nerf because when the spells were released, they worked in single-combat, but now restricting them to multi-combat is effectively making them much less useful.

Ugh...I really hate it when Jagex "tweaks" the PvP system. Honestly, they're trying to make it so that every fight is balanced, no matter what, but thats not the point of PvP. Also, it helps to have friends, and if the guy your fighting has a buddy venging him every 30 seconds, why not bring a friend of your own? I mean, honestly sometimes I feel like the ideal PvP system for Jagex would be one where both players are in a padded, 3x3 room with equal stats, armor, and inventory. PvP is about winning no matter what, and every time a strategy is developed, Jagex nerfs it. Just my two cents.

Tip.It Times - 6th March 2011
I thought that the first article was interesting, but it seems almost too good. I mean, a lot of people would probly switch from "real" runescape to the secondary runescape, just imagine, being able to buy any item for mid price on the g.e. Party hats would be everywhere! Overall a very interesting read though.

Wow really? It would only cost me 51 million for 85 without the bonus xp? Wow, this'll be easier than I thought. Thanks for that useful link!

My options for dailies
Well some things you can do each day are farming runs, MTK, and buying the base amount of battlestaves from Naff. However, many daily activities require the achievement diary or a certain quest to be completed. (Including MTK)

another herblore topic
I really hate to do this, but I feel like getting 85 herblore now will really help me out a lot further down the road... I've never actually trained herblore extensively before, and know almost nothing about training it efficiently or cost effectively. Anyways, here is what I ask, would it be possible to go from 59 herblore to 85 with 60 million gp? What potions should I make? Also, I haven't actually gotten the herbs yet, I was wondering if actually buying them after the weekend had started would be a good idea? I assume people would rapidly begin to try and dump unwanted potions/unused/cleaned herbs as soon as possible once the weekend starts, allowing me to potentially scoop them up for a reduced price (at least thats the hope, am I crazy for thinking this). Thanks for any and all advice. -edit: If 60 million cannot buy me 85 herblore, any suggestions on what to do with my money?

Methods for killing bots:
[spoiler=hide] Let's assume it takes 5 minutes (best case scenario) to read the appeal, reply to it, and move on to the next one. That would be 20 appeals/ hour. Divide that by 100,000 bots, gets you 5,000 man hours. If this support staff is making $15 an hour (which is likely low), that's $75,000 spent on employee wages alone. If any of those accounts are members, Jagex loses up to $600,000 on those as well. So yes, Jagex is a business, and they care about the game and it's integrity, however they won't exist if they don't make money. Therefor there has to be a trade-off. I say ban bots based on reports and reports alone. 1. These bots are likely most effect legitimate players game play, if they get reported (ie, woodcut bots) 2. It would be very easy to automate a system in which player reports are tallied, rushing high offenders to the top of the list. Again, banning those who are peeving the legit players. 3. Jagex wouldn't have to spend as much money on worrying about botters and instead could focus their resources elsewhere. Think about it, this works out for the best. Bots are always going to exist, however if someone is able to create a bot, and you as a player cannot tell they are botting, why does this bother you? To you, they are just an ordinary player, and you would never know otherwise. Now, when there are 60 people at magic/yew trees and you can't get a single tree, report away. Ban them all to hell. And I think Jagex should remove the time limit on reporting What about those people that report you for no reason mhm? Obviously if you haven't botted, then you should be fine. True, but I've always wondered how Jagex determines botters from players? I mean, at some point in the history of Runescape there has got to have been at least one player who was banned for looking like a bot, right?
