Uula
I updated to the new Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) a week ago, and have after that not been able to open Runescape in the regular signed mode. I get a warning message saying it will be run in unsigned mode, which means I have to download the game again each time I play RS, and it won't remember my sound and display settings. Screenshot of trying to open the game: I found my Java Preferences application and found that I did have "Allow user to grant permissions to signed content" enabled, but it wouldn't let grant those permissions myself, which it has before, with previously unopened applets. I tried toggling different settings on and off and rebooted several times, also adding runescape.com to the "safe" sites list wouldn't solve my problem. Does anyone know why it won't let me validate Jagex as a "trusted publisher"? And a way to fix it? Would it be possible to downgrade to Java 1.5 or 1.4? I have a backup of my old OS which used 1.4, I think. Could I just copy all Java files from there on top of my current ones, or could that potentially break my system? Thanks in advance, UulaR
Sam
I wouldn't bother with the copying, I'd just sit tight and wait for Java/Apple to release an update with bugfixes. Not much you can do :| I own an iMac, but I'm no expert on it, you'd be better off asking some like Laura0077. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
stevepole
Well I would recommend updating your computer to OS X 10.6.1 and see if that helps also check your Safari preference and check security to make sure you haven't disabled your java. I updated to 10.6.1, and have checked the settings in both Safari and Firefox and that didn't solve the problem :/ I assume it's a problem with the Java itself. Thanks for the replies. Laura
Just with Safari? If so, I can easily give you the file to swap. To check something, my Utilities>Java Preferances>Advanced settings look like the following: Debugging (what is checked): N/A Java Console(what is checked) : Do not start console Shortcut creation (what is checked): Prompt user if hinted Security (what is not checked): Show site cert. from server even if valid Check publisher cert. for revocation Enable online cert validation Enable list of trusted publishers Use SSL 2.0 compatible ClientHello format

Laura
Do you have the various Runescape worlds under Java Preferences>Security? Should look like world2.runescape.com If not, hit the + icon and add 'runescape.com' Under the General tab in Java Preferences drag Java SE 6 32-bit in both the plugins and applications. Then open up Applications and secondary-click Safari. Hit "Get Info" and check the box to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Attempt to run Runescape. I tried with both 'runescape.com' and adding all worlds separately.
Laura
Hmm. I have no clue, then. You could try AppleCare, but I think they'll just talk you through a clean installation.
